Look for Tickets in Other Currencies
If the currency of your nation is now strong relative to those of other nations, look for flights in a nation where the currency is less strong.
For instance, I was able to get a one-way airfare from Australia to NYC for $1,000 USD during a time when the US dollar was high and the New Zealand dollar was weak. However, I discovered the same ticket for $600 USD when I searched on the airline's New Zealand website.
